Have you ever wondered how honey bees adapt their incredible wax-building skills to plastic foundation frames? 🤔

Plastic foundation provides bees with a sturdy, reusable base that mimics the hexagonal pattern of natural comb. The bees get to work, excreting tiny flakes of wax from their wax glands and carefully molding it onto the foundation. Over time, they build out perfectly aligned comb cells for storing honey, pollen, and raising brood. 🍯

Huge hive we removed from an apartment in Dallas!

Its always surprising how big some of the hives can get!

Building on an exposed tree branch is not the smartest idea for this hive. Thankfully we were able to relocate them to a more appropriate location where they can thrive!
